Bayelsa is a coastal state in Nigeria that is known for its stunning beauty and rich culture. 1. Yenagoa

The state capital,  City, is still developing. It won’t be long until it emerges as a fully developed capital. In the town, a five-star hotel is presently being constructed by the state government. 2. Amassoma

Amassoma City is located in the local government districts of Bayelsa state’s Southern Ijaw region. The distance between Amassoma and Yenagoa, the state capital, is around 30 kilometers, based on the Bayelsa state map. Like most Ijaw communities, Amassoma is a city by the river and has a rich cultural history. With Arogbo town in Ondo state coming in second, it is reasonable to assume that it is one of the largest Ijaw towns. The city serves as the host town for the state-owned Niger Delta University. This is also the location of the Federal Ministry of Aviation’s International Cargo Airport.

3. Brass City

The state capital is the most visited place in Bayelsa, followed by The Brass City. Nigeria’s Bayelsa State includes the Local Government Area of Brass. Located on Brass Island along the shore, the village of Twon-Brass is home to its headquarters. Its shoreline is on the Bonny Bight. The Edumanom National Forest occupies a large portion of the LGA. Many of the state’s tourist attractions are located in the Brass City. Beautiful beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, the cemeteries of British troops slain in the Nembe-British war of 1895, Mungo Park Residence, the Akassa Slave Transit Camp and Tunnel, the Akassa Wildlife Forest, and the former consulate buildings are just a few of Brass City’s tourist attractions. Another well-known aspect of brass is its raucous business activity. On Brass Island, plans exist for a multibillion-dollar gas complex. Terminals in the town are managed by Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas and Agip Oil Company.

4. Nembe city

The foundation of the Nembe Kingdom is Nembe City. In the Niger Delta is a traditional state called the Nembe Kingdom. It encompasses the Nigerian Bayelsa State Local Government Areas of Nembe and Brass. The term “Amanyanabo” is given to the traditional monarchs. The Amanyanabos of Ogbolomabiri, Bassambiri, and Twon Brass share leadership currently. Nembe’s population was 130,931 according to the Bayelsa State population census conducted in 2006. Similar to Brass City, the Edumanom National Forest occupies a sizable portion of the LGA. The late Chief Christopher Iwowari’s Marble Monument, the late King Ockiya Mausoleum statue at Ogbolomabiriin, and the Ancient Nembe War Canoe Regatta are some of Nembe’s main tourist attractions.

5. Odi

One of the Bayelsa cities that still adheres closely to its cultural history is Odi City. This is clear from the Odi Ogori Ba Uge, the largest event observed by the Odi community in Bayelsa State’s Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area. The neighborhood puts out its drums for dances, its boats for regattas, and a few pageants to liven up the celebrations on July 27th of each year. The celebration honors the defeat of an enigmatic buffalo known as Ogori, which besieged the town and attacked it relentlessly for five years. It was said that the buffalo murdered no fewer than five people at this time. One of the indigenous people, Chief Nengi Thomson Agedah, apparently set out on a quest to seek assistance from a specific Mallam of Tara to find a solution to the issue.

6. Ogbia

Ogbia City is home to 179,926 people and occupies 695 km². The city is widely renowned for its significance to both Bayelsa State’s past and the current state economy of Nigeria. One of the main points of interest in the city of Obibia is the Oloibiri Oil Museum, the site of the first oil discovery in West Africa. This city’s population’s primary business endeavors are farming and fishing. The city is notable for being the birthplace of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, the former president of Nigeria.

7. Oporama

The Southern Ijaw region of Oporama features a shoreline on the Bight of Benin. The majority language spoken by the Oporama people is Izon. It is home to organizations like Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe, the state airport at Amassoma, and Niger Delta University (NDU). Kolu United FC of Koluama II calls it home. Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha (DSP), the first governor of Bayelsa State to be elected democratically, is originally from the region. The primary hub of this city’s attractions is Okpoama Beach.

8. Otuoke

Otuoke is a suburb in Bayelsa State’s Ogbia local government area, which is located in Nigeria’s Niger Delta. The town’s origins may be traced back to the ancient Benin Kingdom, according to oral tradition. Its residents are mostly farmers and fishermen.
